Commuters across the UK are warned of widespread travel disruption as Storm Amy, the first named storm of the season, is set to batter the country.
The Met Office has issued weather warnings for heavy rain and strong winds, with gusts potentially reaching up to 95mph in exposed areas.
An amber warning for "damaging winds" is in place for the north and west of Scotland from Friday evening, with a "danger to life" from flying debris, potential power cuts, and road closures.
Yellow warnings for wind and rain cover all of Scotland, northern England, western Wales, and Northern Ireland, starting from Friday afternoon and extending into the weekend.
Difficult driving conditions are anticipated, particularly for high-sided vehicles, with winds expected to ease for most areas by Saturday afternoon, though remaining very strong in the Northern Isles.
