  • New motoring rules and costs are now in effect in the UK.
  • Advisory Fuel Rates for company cars changed on March 1, 2025, increasing for diesel and some petrol vehicles but remaining the same for electric vehicles.
  • New '25' number plates have been introduced, and drivers are warned against displaying plates that make their vehicles appear newer than they are, with potential fines of £1,000.
  • From April 1, all electric vehicle owners will be subject to a higher band of vehicle excise duty – though still lower than rates for other vehicle types.
  • Electric vehicles priced over £40,000 will also be subject to the Expensive Car Supplement from April.
