A new book, 2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America, reveals new details of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, last July.
Trump was rushed to the hospital after being shot at by Thomas Matthew Crooks, with aides initially believing he had been hit multiple times due to significant bleeding.
Despite the severity, Trump reportedly made jokes in the hospital and later described the bleeding as "like a bitch."
The incident led to an outpouring of support for Trump from figures like Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk, who officially endorsed him.
Trump also had a brief, awkward call with Joe Biden following the attack, which Trump described as "very nice, actually."
