New street art has emerged in Washington D.C.'s Shaw neighbourhood, depicting a 'sandwich guy' hitting administration officials with hoagies, as a protest against the president's crime crackdown in the city.
The 'sandwich guy' imagery stems from a viral video of government employee Sean Dunn allegedly throwing a sandwich at federal officers after the president declared a 'crime emergency' in D.C.
The latest posters, inspired by Banksy, illustrate the hoagie striking Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller in the face.
The president declared a 'crime emergency' and federalised local police despite D.C. experiencing a 30-year low in violent crime, a move largely opposed by city residents according to a recent poll.
A White House spokesperson criticised coverage of the posters, while the president recently claimed D.C. is a 'crime free zone,' a statement contradicted by recent police crime statistics.
