Why Trump has the Federal Emergency Management Agency so worried

More than 180 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) employees have warned Congress that the agency's capabilities are being severely impacted.
Their open letter alleges a reduction in FEMA's mission effectiveness, significant workforce depletion, and the censorship of climate science.
The employees urged Congress to establish FEMA as an independent agency and protect it from further interference from the Department of Homeland Security.
FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security responded by stating their commitment to efficiency and delivering aid, dismissing the concerns as resistance to reform.
These warnings come amidst proposals from figures like Kristi Noem and Donald Trump to remake or dismantle FEMA, alongside a significant increase in billion-dollar natural disasters.
