The Independent's Andrew Feinberg analyzes Trump controversial UN speech
  • A Washington Post-Ipsos poll found that 76 per cent of US adults believe Donald Trump does not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize.
  • Only 22 per cent of respondents thought Trump should receive the award, with support among Republicans evenly split at 49 per cent for and against.
  • The survey also showed 60 per cent disapproval of Trump's approach to the war in Ukraine and 58 per cent disapproval of his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
  • Trump recently claimed at the UN General Assembly to have ended seven 'raging' wars, though a CNN fact-check disputed some of these assertions.
  • French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Trump would only earn a Nobel Peace Prize by stopping the current war, while the poll also noted 54 per cent did not believe Barack Obama deserved his 2009 award.
