  • Donald Trump is scheduled for an unprecedented second state visit to the UK from 17 to 19 September.
  • He will be hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle, accompanied by Melania Trump.
  • The invitation for this historic visit was formally extended by King Charles via Sir Keir Starmer during a meeting at the White House.
  • Due to the House of Commons being in recess, Trump will not address Parliament during his visit, unlike French President Emmanuel Macron recently.
  • This marks an unusual second state visit for a US leader, as previous second-term presidents typically had less formal engagements with the monarch.
