Trump falsely claims to have ended war between Cambodia and Armenia
Trump says he stopped war between Cambodia and Armenia, which are 4000 miles apart
Donald Trump claimed to have ended a conflict between “Cambodia and Armenia” during a recent dinner speech, despite no such conflict existing.
He appears to have confused Armenia's tensions with Azerbaijan and border violence between Cambodia and Thailand, both of which his administration was involved in mediating.
Trump's administration did help mediate a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand in July, following clashes that resulted in 43 deaths.
Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Manet, along with Pakistan and Israel, nominated Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize for his “visionary and innovative diplomacy” in defusing the border crisis.
Trump has repeatedly expressed his desire for a Nobel Peace Prize, frequently citing his diplomatic successes and complaining about not receiving the award.
