Donald Trump has claimed he is receiving "great reviews" for his makeover of the White House Rose Garden, which involved replacing the lawn with a stone patio.
He justified the redesign, saying “we had to do it” as the previous grass area was often wet and muddy, making it unsuitable for its intended purpose.
The new patio features white stone, described as matching the White House and designed to reflect heat.
Despite Trump's positive assessment, social media users widely criticised the redesign, likening it to a "parking lot" or "concrete jungle" and "devoid of life".
The historic Rose Garden, opened in 1913 and enhanced by Jackie Kennedy, now features a layout that pushes its signature rose bushes to the periphery, reminiscent of Trump's Mar-a-Lago property.
