A State Department official has revealed that President Donald Trump is planning to resettle "thousands" of white South Africans in the US, according to a report.
Earlier this month, Mr Trump granted 59 white South Africans entry to the US as "refugees", leading to accusations that he ambushed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa with claims of a "white genocide".
A government official told the Daily Caller that the number of white Afrikaner refugees is expected to surge in the latter half of summer, with potential arrivals in the hundreds or thousands.
The State Department reported receiving nearly 50,000 enquiries from South Africans interested in the resettlement program.
In March, Mr Trump claimed on Truth Social that South Africa is mistreating long-time farmers and confiscating their land, coinciding with Elon Musk’s appointment to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
