Simon Calder: September Tube strikes could bring week-long travel chaos to London
London commuters face significant disruption due to a series of Tube strikes by RMT union members, set to last six days.
Every Underground line will be affected from Sunday, 7 September until Thursday, 11 September, with the DLR also shutting down on 9 and 11 September.
The Elizabeth line, London Overground, buses, and national rail services will continue to operate as usual, though they are expected to be busier.
Talks between the RMT union and Transport for London (TfL) broke down, with the union citing demands over pay, fatigue management, and shift patterns as reasons for the industrial action.
Travellers are advised to plan journeys in advance, consider walking or cycling, and utilise alternative transport options, with Coldplay already having rescheduled concerts due to the impending disruption.
