  • The committee highlighted that significant cuts to the UK's aid budget, from 0.5 per cent to 0.3 per cent of gross national income, are undermining efforts to tackle migration drivers.
  • Despite government efforts to curb small boat crossings, MPs warn that without addressing underlying issues like conflict, climate change, and poverty, the UK will struggle to resolve its migration challenges.
