Eleven killed as US missile sinks alleged drug boat
Trump posts footage of the Venezuelan drug boat being blown up
The US carried out a missile strike on a "drug boat" from Venezuela, resulting in the deaths of 11 people on board.
Night-time footage released by the White House on Tuesday, 2 September, showed the speedboat exploding into a fireball after being hit by a missile.
Donald Trump stated that the deadly strike targeted members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, who were transporting drugs across international waters bound for the US.
The US president issued a warning on his Truth Social platform, stating that no US forces were harmed and cautioning anyone attempting to bring drugs into the United States.
