Met Office issues weather warning across several parts of the UK

  • A yellow weather warning has been issued for several parts of the UK and Northern Ireland, forecasting wind and blustery showers.
  • Heavy rain and strong gusty winds are expected across areas including north-east and north-west England, parts of Scotland, Yorkshire and Humber, and Northern Ireland.
  • The warning for heavy rainfall is in place for 21 hours, from 9am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday, with 20-40mm of rain anticipated, potentially reaching 75-100mm in some locations.
  • The Met Office has warned of potential flooding, power cuts, and a small risk of danger to life from fast-flowing or deep water.
  • People are advised to stay updated with forecasts, check road conditions, and prepare for potential flooding by having a flood plan and emergency kit.
