WH Smith is selling its UK high street stores to Modella Capital, owner of Hobbycraft, for £76 million.
The move will eventually lead to the WH Smith high street brand being replaced by TG Jones.
The sale doesn't include WH Smith's travel retail business, which operates in airports, train stations, and hospitals.
WH Smith's travel retail division has become the company's primary focus, now comprising the majority of its sales and profits.
The high street stores represent a smaller portion of WH Smith's overall profit, contributing only 15 per cent.
