Multiple federal agencies are reversing cuts implemented by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency during the initial weeks of Donald Trump's second term.
The White House is asking hundreds of federal employees, previously fired or offered buyouts to return to their jobs.
Last week, the General Services Administration sent an internal memo to workers, most of whom have been on what amounts to a months-long paid vacation, stating that they have until the end of this week to accept or decline an offer for reinstatement.
A former GSA official stated that the cuts left the agency 'broken' and unable to perform basic functions.
Other agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, and National Park Service, are also reinstating workers who were dismissed or accepted buyout offers.
