The White House's X account posted a tweet suggesting the deportation of the family of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, who is accused of a hate crime and 16 counts of attempted murder in Boulder, Colorado.
Soliman, an Egyptian national, is charged with attacking a 'Run For Their Lives' event with Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower.
Soliman was in the U.S. illegally, and his wife and five children have reportedly been arrested by ICE and are facing expedited removal proceedings.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said that her agency is investigating the extent to which Soliman's family knew about his alleged plans.
The White House's post has been criticized for being in poor taste.
