Texas native Kaura Taylor, reported missing by her family, has been found living with a group called the Kingdom of Kubala in a forest near Jedburgh, Scotland.
Taylor, who now goes by Asnat, stated in a video message that she is not missing and is an adult, urging authorities to leave her alone.
The Kingdom of Kubala, led by King Atehene and Queen Nandi, claims to be a lost tribe of Hebrews seeking to reclaim land in Scotland, believing their ancestors were deported 400 years ago.
The group lives off-grid, following their own interpretation of divine law rather than local regulations, and has reportedly faced eviction notices and an attack where a tent was set on fire.
Scottish Borders Council is collaborating with Police Scotland to address the situation, offering the group advice on housing and support services.
