Support floods in for former Arsenal player in coma

Mikel Arteta ‘very disappointed’ in Arsenal’s draw with Man City
  • Former Arsenal academy player Billy Vigar, 21, is in an induced coma after suffering a "significant brain injury" during a football match.
  • The incident occurred on Saturday when Vigar, playing for Chichester City, collided with a concrete wall while attempting to prevent the ball from going out of play.
  • The match against Wingate and Finchley was abandoned after 13 minutes, with Vigar receiving treatment from ambulance and air ambulance services.
  • Chichester City confirmed Vigar is in intensive care, stating that a long recovery is anticipated even if his condition improves.
  • Former Bath City striker Alex Fletcher, who suffered a similar incident in 2022, shared he was “sending all the love, strength and best wishes to the Vigar family for healing in time”.
