Silverstone will host a Formula 1 sprint race for the first time in five years at the 2026 British Grand Prix, scheduled for 3-5 July.
Elsewhere, Canada, Singapore, and Zandvoort are new additions to the sprint calendar for 2026, marking their first time hosting the shortened format.
Brazil, Belgium, Austin, and Qatar will no longer host sprint races from 2026, while China and Miami retain their positions as sprint venues.
The 2026 F1 season will feature six sprint races, accounting for 25 per cent of the total race weekends, with discussions ongoing for a potential increase from 2027.
Introduced in 2021 to boost competitive sessions, sprint weekends have historically led to an average 10 per cent increase in television viewership compared to non-sprint weekends.
