  • The club was demoted from the Europa League to the Conference League by UEFA due to a breach of multi-club ownership rules.
  • The breach stemmed from American co-owner John Textor's “decisive influence” over both Crystal Palace and Lyon.
  • CAS upheld UEFA's initial decision, which favoured Lyon for the Europa League spot based on their higher league finish.
  • Textor has since sold his stake in Crystal Palace in a bid to save its Europa League status, but the move came too late to prevent the demotion.
