England captain Leah Williamson stated the Lionesses are determined to continue their legacy and not be a “flash in the pan” as they prepare to face world champions Spain in the Euro 2025 final.
The Lionesses are aiming to defend their European title and become the first English team to win a major trophy on foreign soil, having previously lost to Spain in the 2023 World Cup final.
Williamson emphasised the team's motivation to add to their story and continue elevating women's football, acknowledging the historical significance of winning away from home.
She dismissed the idea of England being underdogs against the world champions, stating both teams need to be at their best to win, and that there is mutual respect.
Manager Sarina Wiegman confirmed that all 23 players, including Lauren James who has recovered from an ankle injury, are available for the final.
