Indian Premier League suspended as India-Pakistan conflict escalates
BCCI suspends IPL 2025 indefinitely
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
The suspension follows the abandonment of a match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, officially attributed to a power outage, but linked to the ongoing conflict.
The tournament, which began on March 22 and was scheduled to end on May 25, is now on hold indefinitely and initially for a week.
The India-Pakistan conflict flared up after India targeted locations in Pakistan it claimed were linked to terrorism, in response to an earlier attack in Kashmir.
Several airports in northwestern India, including those in Dharamsala and Chandigarh, have been closed to civilian and commercial flights.
