  • 19-year-old Jakub Mensik has defeated Novak Djokovic to win the Miami Open, his first ATP Masters 1000 title.
  • Mensik is now the second-youngest Miami Open champion after Carlos Alcaraz after denying Djokovic his his 100th tour-level title.
  • Djokovic, who appeared to be hampered by an eye issue during the game, hasn't won a non-Olympic title since the 2023 ATP Finals.
  • Mensik, having previously lost to Djokovic, acknowledged the Serb as his childhood idol.
  • Following a rain delay, Mensik broke Djokovic early, maintained a strong serve, and won both sets via tie-break.
