Liverpool reveals scale of ticket touting and scams

  • Liverpool FC issued a record 1,114 indefinite bans last season as part of a significant crackdown on ticket touting.
  • This figure marks a substantial increase from the 75 bans imposed during the 2023/24 season.
  • Almost half of the bans were levied following the discovery of "mass manipulation software" used for unauthorised ticket sales.
  • The club also shut down 45,000 fake ticketing accounts and is currently investigating an additional 10,000.
  • Investigators closed 162 social media groups, with a combined membership exceeding one million, that were involved in selling fake or overpriced tickets.
