Thomas Frank shares stern response to racist abuse towards Tel
'No real Tottenham fan' would racially abuse Mathys Tel - Frank
Tottenham forward Mathys Tel received racist abuse on social media after missing a penalty in Wednesday’s Super Cup loss to Paris St Germain.
Spurs manager Thomas Frank has called on “real Tottenham supporters” to show their backing for Tel in Saturday’s Premier League opener against Burnley.
Tottenham expressed their disgust at the abuse, with teammates offering support and anti-discrimination charity Kick It Out issuing a warning about future player reluctance to take penalties.
Frank confirmed that Yves Bissouma, who was previously dropped for lateness, will be available for selection in the matchday squad.
The club is actively pursuing new signings, with Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Manchester City’s Savinho identified as top targets for a creative midfield role.
