Football world pays tribute to former Liverpool women’s manager Matt Beard

Former Liverpool Women manager Matt Beard has died at the age of 47, prompting widespread tributes from the football community.
Beard had two spells managing Liverpool, notably leading them to back-to-back Women's Super League titles in 2013 and 2014 during his first tenure.
He also guided Liverpool back to the WSL in 2021 during his second period at the club, which concluded in February this year.
His extensive career included managing Chelsea, Boston Breakers, West Ham – where he reached the Women's FA Cup final – Bristol City, and a brief spell at Burnley.
Clubs and organisations, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, the WSL, and the FA, have expressed deep sadness, highlighting his significant contribution to the growth of women's football.
