Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has called for a definitive resolution regarding the future of striker Alexander Isak.
Isak was not included in the squad for Newcastle's Premier League season opener, a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa.
The Sweden international is reportedly seeking a move away from St James' Park, with Liverpool having previously had a bid rejected.
Howe reiterated that the option for Isak to return to the squad remains open, but the decision ultimately rests with the player.
Aston Villa played with 10 men for over half an hour after Ezri Konsa's red card but successfully held Newcastle to a goalless draw.
