Travis Kelce addresses on-field collision with fellow teammate Xavier Worthy
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has taken full responsibility for accidentally injuring teammate Xavier Worthy during their opening-season game.
The incident occurred in the first quarter of the Chiefs' game against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil, when Kelce collided with Worthy, causing a dislocated shoulder.
Speaking on his New Heights podcast, Kelce admitted he needed to 'be better' and that there was 'no excuse' for running into his own player.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid provided a positive update, stating Worthy will not require surgery and is not being considered for short-term injured reserve.
The Chiefs ultimately lost the game 27-21 to the Chargers.
