Howard Webb admits ‘misjudgement’ in VAR for Fulham Chelsea goal

PGMOL chief Howard Webb stated it was a "misjudgement" to disallow Josh King's goal for Fulham in their Premier League match against Chelsea.
The goal was ruled out following a VAR check because Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz had stepped on Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah's foot.
Webb described the decision as "wrong" and indicated that the established guidance for a high threshold for penalising contact and VAR intervention was not properly followed.
As a result of the controversial decision, Michael Salisbury, the VAR official for the fixture, was stood down for a subsequent Premier League game.
The incident has contributed to the ongoing scrutiny and debate surrounding VAR decisions early in the current football season.
