OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Although there's not that much of note near this creekside hotel, and it is a bit out of the way for the beaches and tourist and business centres, it's so pleasant you probably won't want to leave anyway. It's next to the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, and conveniently near both the airport and Deira City Centre Shopping Mall; the nearest Metro station is less than 20 minutes' walk from the hotel, which is not bad for Dubai.

By plane: flights from London and Manchester to Dubai take 7 hours. The hotel is 11 minutes' drive from the airport. Free private parking on-site. Book flights to Dubai.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

This well-designed low-rise resort has whitewashed buildings with blue domes and bougainvillaea-draped walls that recall Greek Islands like Santorini, while the intricately-patterned woodwork and cream interiors suggest a Middle Eastern slant. All in all, it's attractive and relaxing.

THE FACILITIES

Service is friendly, efficient and polite and there's an impressive selection of restaurants and bars, as well as a golf course and 24-hour high-quality fitness centre. The infinity pool, with its beach area and bank of sun loungers, is very inviting indeed. There's also a private fishing and yacht service, free valet parking, concierges and an airport limousine service.

The rooms and suites here are stylish and luxurious and have views of Dubai Creek, the golf course or the marina and have either a balcony or terrace. The décor is pleasantly neutral, nice touches include arched doorways and classy wood accents, while bathrooms are again luxurious, with deep standalone baths, walk-in showers, and double sinks.
