THE LOOK AND FEEL

The Kilcot Inn has all the charm of a country pub but with modern and fresh décor and simple but comfortable furniture. The atmosphere is intimate and cosy thanks to low ceilings and small public rooms and separate areas. Children have lots of space to run around outside.

THE FACILITIES

This is a well-loved local pub, so often gets busy, when service can slow down. Staff take an active role in the community and in 2021, started supporting the local Pied Piper children's charity. There's local artists' work on display and they still host the Newent Beekeepers Society and sell The Kilcot Honey.

BED AND BATH

The four comfortable en-suite rooms - two doubles and two twins - are accessible via a short flight of stairs. Facilities include tea and coffee-making amenities with biscuits and bottled water, a TV, sofa and desk. Bathrooms have a bath/shower, heated towel rail and bathrobes.

Room types: May Hill, Brown Snout, Old Rosie, The Malvern Suite

Key amenities: ensuite with bath and/or shower, bathrobes, towels, desk, chair, TV, tea and coffee facilities, free Wi-Fi

FOOD AND DRINK

The menu centres on country pub dishes with extra flair, so as well as beef burgers, there are ostrich, bean and leek burgers. Children, vegetarians and vegans are catered for, too. Drinks include real ales and ciders and an intriguing wine list.

The Kilcot Inn: hearty British dishes, local produce, weekly seasonal menus, daily specials, kitchen garden. Open Thursday-Monday for breakfast, lunch and dinner (except Sunday nights).
