THE LOOK AND FEEL

The ground floor pub has green wood panelling, old bare wooden floors and tables and a pool table, and has the appearance of a typical high street pub. The guest accommodation upstairs has a completely different feel, with bright, modern ensuite bathrooms and attractive bedrooms where care has been put into the styling.

THE FACILITIES

The bedrooms have high-quality features, such as tailor-made luxury beds with pocket-sprung mattresses, Egyptian cotton sheets, duck-down duvets and pillows. They have a flatscreen TV, tea and coffee facilities, drench showers, under-floor heating and quality bathroom products.

BED AND BATH

There are three guest rooms, and two have kitchenettes and dining areas. They are comfortably appointed, with king-sized beds, stripped wooden floors, well-chosen artworks on the walls, exposed beams and antique furniture. Room one is the biggest and almost a studio apartment.

Room types: Room 1, Room 2, Room 3

Key amenities: ensuite bathroom, TV, tea and coffee facilities, free Wi-Fi

FOOD AND DRINK

The pub breakfast is at sister business Byfords B&B across the road. The pub has an attractive restaurant with exposed brick and stone walls and both wooden- and zinc-topped tables adding character that's less present in the bar area. Conservatory-style, it's light and spacious and offers pub classics and more unusual chef specials.

Restaurant: hearty gastropub food. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Mains from £13.50.

Bar: locally sourced beers from the Norfolk Brewhouse.
