OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

In the middle of the traditional coastal town of Agios Nikolaos, as you walk out the door you are on the road to a host of restaurants, shops, cafés, a pretty harbour and a dedicated beach for guests. Further afield you can visit Café Panorama to eat alongside locals or sip on an ice-cold almond 'soumada' drink in Kritsa village. A memorable visit to nearby Vassilakis Estate for an olive oil tour takes you from a 2000-year-old olive tree and historic mill to modern-day production.

By plane: direct flights to Heraklion take around 4 hours from London. It's a 50 minute drive to the hotel. Book flights to Heraklion.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

The hotel centres around a long infinity pool with views out over magical Mirabello Bay and a line of sun loungers beside it. Smart grey marbled stone greets you as you walk into the contemporary reception area with its adjacent Ariagne Bar, featuring emerald green-tiled pillars and a statement red and gold wall.

THE FACILITIES

Every member of staff was genuinely friendly and accommodating. Giannis, the Service Manager, took pride in explaining each dish on the menu, delving into backstories as well as the origin of ingredients, which was a highlight of our meals. The concierge has bespoke booklets of where to go and what to do, especially created by them.
