Hotel Review
Europe Villa Cortés, Costa Adeje, Tenerife
It's Mexico a-go-go at five-star Europe Villa Cortés in Playa de las Américas. This popular tourist resort was the brainchild of the father-and-son team, Catalan industrialist Rafael Puig Lluvina and professor Santiago Puig Serratussel. However, this upscale hotel positions itself to accommodate more exclusive clientele, including stars such as Jennifer Lopez.

OUR REVIEW
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
With an address in Avenida Rafael Puig Lluvina, an avenue named after one of the resort's founders, there's no mistaking you're in Playa de las Américas and it's a 17.5km taxi ride from Tenerife South. There's direct access to the promenade and a natural swimming pool. Siam Park, Europe's biggest water park, takes a mere ten minutes by car, and is a proper fun-for-all-the-family day out.
By plane: flights from London, Birmingham and Manchester to Tenerife take around 4 hours 30 mins. The hotel is a 20-minute drive from Tenerife South airport. Parking costs €15 per day. Book flights to Tenerife.
THE LOOK AND FEEL
A shrine to Mexico, the hotel marries Mayan influences including a faux temple and Catholic touches with a chapel. There's a playful style seen in the Fernando Botero paintings; this Colombian artist is renowned for his satirical works which depict his subjects with disproportionately sized body parts for comic effect.
THE FACILITIES
Many A-listers have stayed at the hotel and the courteous service is extended to all, so you feel like a star. There's a large heated pool open all year round, along with a smaller children's one. Take advantage of the gym and make like Rafael Nadal on the tennis courts.
