The Intercontinental Downtown LA is well-located in this bustling, central part of LA, with lots of restaurants, shops and bars nearby. It's hard to believe this hotel has 889 rooms, as there's always an air of calm throughout. It is decorated neutrally, with lots of shades of cream and brown, and polished concrete walls in the corridors. The large lobby lounge, which has a bar area, has big sofas scattered around and guest rooms are spacious.

This huge hotel is packed with amenities and facilities, all of a very high standard: several restaurants and bars, a pool, spa and fitness centre, ballrooms and meeting rooms. The staff are friendly and very professional.

All guest rooms are located above the 31st floor, therefore everyone gets a great view. Rooms are spacious and the décor is neutral, mainly browns, greys and creams. There are big, comfortable beds, a large desk and ample seating. The bathrooms were built in pods off-property and stacked on top of each other during the construction of the hotel, yet there's no sacrifice to quality.

There's a great choice of bars and restaurants, and the quality is superb. La Boucherie, on the seventh floor, is a high-end steakhouse with a French twist. There's also a poolside bar and upscale sushi restaurant, and rooftop bar Spire 73.
