Simple Ways to Cut Salt and Protect Your Heart Health
A new Japanese study has linked frequent ramen consumption to an increased risk of early death in some individuals.
The research, conducted over 4.5 years with 6,500 participants, found this association particularly in men under 70 years old.
Drinking at least half of the ramen soup, which typically contains high levels of salt, was identified as a significant factor contributing to the increased death risk.
The study noted a threefold higher death risk for those who consumed ramen more than three times a week in conjunction with alcohol.
Researchers recommend limiting ramen to occasional meals, avoiding most of the soup, and exercising caution if also consuming alcohol, due to the high sodium content and potential health risks.
