Lynd Fruit Farm in Pataskala, Ohio, gained widespread attention after a family attempted to steal $300 worth of apples.
The family tried to conceal the fruit in various parts of their car, including the boot, under children, and in the glove compartment.
This incident was one of several thefts reported by the farm, prompting owner Andy Lynd to enhance security measures.
The family-owned farm will now employ undercover security and install additional signage to deter future thefts.
While the farm declined to press charges, the offenders were made to pay for the stolen produce, and customers expressed dismay at the impact on the popular autumn activity.
