Boris Johnson rules out joining Reform UK as party slams his record

  • Boris Johnson has effectively ruled out joining Reform UK, labelling the party "extremely dangerous" and raising concerns about its economic policies and approach to national security.
  • Mr Johnson criticised Reform UK's stance that Nato provoked Russia's aggression in Ukraine, arguing that the UK needs strong and determined leadership on international issues.
  • He also attacked Reform's proposal to abolish the two-child cap on benefits, saying that public spending needs to be reduced.
  • Mr Johnson defended the Conservative Party, calling it "the oldest, most successful party in the world" and praising Kemi Badenoch as "the sparkiest and most intellectually original" leader.
  • Reform UK has similarly ruled out Mr Johnson joining their ranks, with policy head Zia Yusuf describing him as one of Britain's worst prime ministers and criticising his immigration record.
