Fireworks explosion at Cape Cod golf course injures four

  • A fireworks display prematurely exploded at the New Seabury Country Club in Mashpee, Cape Cod, on Wednesday afternoon.
  • Four crew members from Pyrotecnico, the company setting up the display, were injured in the incident.
  • One person sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital, while three others received burns or minor injuries.
  • The explosion occurred around 4:30 p.m. when a firework shell ignited, setting off other shells on the ground.
  • The incident, which caused a large, smoky explosion visible for miles, is currently under investigation but appears to have been accidental.
