- Five charities have removed Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, as a patron following the emergence of leaked emails concerning her correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein.
- The leaked emails reportedly show the Duchess apologising to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in April 2011, referring to him as a "steadfast, generous and supreme friend".
- This apology was sent weeks after she publicly stated she would "never have anything to do with" Epstein again, having previously accepted £15,000 from him.
- Charities including Julia’s House, The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, Prevent Breast Cancer, Teenage Cancer Trust, and the British Heart Foundation announced their decisions, citing the inappropriateness of her continued association.
- A spokesperson for the Duchess claimed the email was sent under duress to "assuage Epstein and his threats" of defamation, stating she was "taken in by his lies".
