  • Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives made public a birthday letter allegedly written by Donald Trump to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein more than 20 years ago.
  • The letter, dated 2003, was released after Congress received Epstein's 'birthday book' and includes a purported dialogue where Trump calls Epstein a 'pal'.
  • A White House official, Taylor Budowich, immediately denied the letter's authenticity, claiming the signature was not Trump's and alleging defamation.
  • Republicans on the House Oversight Committee later released hundreds of pages of documents from Epstein's lawyers, including the full 'birthday book' and his will.
  • The 'birthday book' also contains messages purportedly from other notable figures, such as Bill Clinton and Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz.
