Israel accused of ‘state terror’ over Qatar airstrike

Benjamin Netanyahu takes 'full responsibility' for Qatar airstrike
  • Israel’s airstrike on Hamas ceasefire negotiators in Doha killed six people, including a Qatari security force member and five Hamas representatives involved in US-led peace talks.
  • Qatar's Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, condemned the attack as “barbaric” and “state terror” in an interview with CNN, saying it “killed any hope” for the remaining Israeli hostages.
  • Mr Al-Thani accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “wasting our time” and not being serious about peace negotiations, leading Qatar to reassess its role in hosting future talks.
  • US President Donald Trump described the attack as “unfortunate” and detrimental to US and Israeli goals, while British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer condemned it as a violation of Qatar's sovereignty.
  • Mr Netanyahu's office confirmed the strike was “a wholly independent Israeli operation”, taking full responsibility for the action.
