Jaguar Land Rover production ‘severely disrupted’ by cyberattack
  • Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced it will resume some manufacturing operations in the coming days following a major cyber attack.
  • The car manufacturer has been in shutdown since the beginning of the month, leading to estimated costs of £50m a week in lost production.
  • The UK government agreed to a £1.5bn loan guarantee to JLR over the weekend to protect the company and its supply chain.
  • The cyber attack put over 33,000 JLR employees and numerous supply chain jobs at risk, with some firms solely reliant on JLR.
  • Industry minister Chris McDonald urged British businesses to learn from JLR's disruption, following other recent high-profile cyber incidents.
