Buckingham Palace confirms Vatican City state visit

Pope Leo appeals to world powers for peace in his first Sunday address

  • Pope Leo XIV was elected in May, following the death of Pope Francis, and is the first pontiff from the United States.
  • Charles and Camilla had a private meeting with Pope Francis just 12 days before his death, which occurred on their 20th wedding anniversary.
  • Pope Leo XIV has outlined priorities including church unity, peace, justice, truth, and addressing the challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
