Reporter tear-gassed live on air during LA ICE protest coverage
‘I can’t see anything!’: Tear gas leaves reporter gasping and coughing during LA protest
A KCAL reporter, Lauren Pozen, was caught in tear gas while covering Los Angeles ICE protests, struggling to speak and see live on air.
The incident occurred during a CBS Los Angeles broadcast showing law enforcement dispersing demonstrators protesting immigration raids at the Metropolitan Detention Center on Saturday night.
Pozen reported "fireworks going off" and "tear gas in the air" before her condition deteriorated, prompting anchors to switch to a chopper shot.
President Donald Trump has deployed the National Guard to quell the protests.
