Starmer will do ‘everything in my power’ to protect Jewish communities
Keir Starmer issues statement following Manchester synagogue terror attack
A terror attack took place outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester, on Thursday, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.
Police shot the attacker dead within seven minutes of being alerted, with security staff and worshippers praised for preventing him from gaining entry to the synagogue.
Sir Keir Starmer condemned the “terrorist attack that attacked Jews because they are Jews”, which he said had been committed by “a vile individual” before pledging increased police presence for the Jewish community.
Sir Keir expressed solidarity with the Jewish community and commented, “you will see the other Britain, the Britain of compassion, of decency, of love”.
