  • The life-sized statue was cut off at the ankles before being taken.
  • This is the second statue of Melania Trump to be vandalised in Sevnica; a wooden version was burned in 2020.
  • The bronze statue was created by American artist Brad Downey as a commentary on US immigration policies.
  • The theft occurred shortly after reports surfaced about the state of the Trumps' marriage and Melania's limited time at the White House.
