Moving house is ranked as one of the most stressful life experiences, surpassing childbirth and job interviews, according to a survey of 2,000 UK homeowners.
While the loss of a family member was the most stressful event (65 per cent), moving home (33 per cent) ranked higher than having a child (19 per cent) and other common anxieties like job interviews (15 per cent) and dental procedures (12 per cent).
The survey highlights the emotional and logistical challenges of moving.
Compare My Move co-founder Dave Sayce suggests planning early, decluttering, finding a reliable moving company, labeling boxes clearly, and packing an essentials box to reduce stress.
The survey was conducted by OnePoll in May, allowing respondents to choose multiple options.
