The survey of 1,013 registered voters found Obama leading Donald Trump by a double-digit margin, with 52 percent favoring Obama and 41 percent backing Donald Trump.
Obama demonstrated strong support among Hispanic, Black, and Independent voters in the hypothetical matchup.
Trump has repeatedly mused over the possibility of a third presidential term, despite being barred by the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution – which prohibits anyone from being elected president more than twice.
While Obama comfortably beat Trump, the poll indicated Trump would narrowly defeat other potential Democratic challengers such as Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden in hypothetical matchups.
